Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, process improvement experience, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Hourly $32-$35/hr - DOE


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment execution
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and proper coding
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors via ACH, wire, and check
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or disputes
  • Maintain and update vendor records, including W-9s and payment details
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements
  • Lead AP process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Support audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Mentor junior AP staff and provide training as needed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, finance, and operations teams

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, GAAP principles, and internal controls
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
